Annual Interactive Touring Play

SQUIJOOOM! our new interactive touring play for primary schools is now open for bookings. For more information or to book your spot in the 23/24 tour for your school please contact Nicola by emailing [email protected] or calling 085 8138016.

Our annual interactive touring play is at the very core of what we do at Little Red Kettle. Devised by the LRK artistic team, the play explores theatre making, performance and the issues of the day and tours to schools throughout Waterford City, County and the South East. For many, it will be their first experience of live theatre and we encourage active participation to create a fully immersive experience.

Last year nearly 13000 children participated and engaged with Funky Fandango! the show for 22/23.

This project is supported by the arts office of Waterford Council and Creative Waterford.

Theatre Projects

Professional productions are the highpoint of our artistic calendar bringing together casts of young people from a range of different backgrounds, to create vital, vigorous and exciting theatre that speaks directly of our mission and vision.

Led by the LRK artistic team, the company works with a group of young people to develop an original piece of theatre in a fun and creative environment. It is an immersive experience and participants explore all aspects of theatre making.

The process encourages participants to develop their own artistic and creative practice and learn the skills necessary to work with a large group.

LRK Shakespeare

LRK Shakespeare is an initiative in partnership with the Theatre Royal, Waterford to bring professional productions of Shakespeare to Leaving Cert students in the region in line with curriculum.

HOME - a new LRK play for children, young people and families

LRK supported theatre maker and Youth Council mentor Deirdre Dwyer in a successful YPCE Commissions Award from the Arts Council. This award allowed us to commission Deirdre to explore and develop a new piece of writing for children and families that has become HOME. A rehearsed reading of this new work will take place during the Imagine Arts Festival 2023.  For bookings please see https://www.imagineartsfestival.com/schedule#calendar-dee677b4-6fb6-4624-bb7d-9fde5dfef078-event-ln4if0z6

We are excited to move this project towards production in 2024.
